Bible Study: Kingdom Living

As you see from the scripture above, we where given dominion over the earth.  Dominion is translated to mean kingdom, sovereign rule or royal power.  We where created to rule and reign on earth and have power to further the Kingdom.  Jesus expects his servants to exercise His authority and influence.  1 Peter 2:9 says that, But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

KINGDOM OF GOD

In the beginning Adam and Eve had authority over all the earth, but they lost their authority when they sinned.  Satan ruled until Jesus came to earth to reverse the effects of their sin and restore power to us believers.

God called us to rule on His behalf in our everyday life.  Just as Jesus did on earth so should we.  Jesus’ main focus was to further the Kingdom of Heaven.  You see this through His prayers, teachings, healings and miracles.  Jesus had one mandate, to return the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.  This was the only way to return power and authority to the earth.  This is evident in Matthew 4:17, From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

The kingdom mandate empowers man to dominate earth.  It impacts, influences and changes earth, in order to bring Heaven to earth.  The Kingdom of God is such that there is never a need to worry about tomorrow while in His care.

When you pray, pray with a passion for Christ.  His name, His Kingdom, and His will should have top priority in your prayers.  When we pray like this the Kingdom of God is displayed on earth.  Your aim should always be first to love the Lord and lift high the name of the Lord throughout the earth, glorifying Him in all that we do.

As believers we are here to rule, reign and prosper because God created this world for us. We have authority on earth!  We are not weak and at the mercy of the world, because we are not of this world.  We are sons and daughters of God, we are lead by the Spirit of God and subject to the law of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14-16).  The Holy Spirit empowers us to live according to the law of Christ Jesus.  If we walk in power of the Spirit, we are fulfilling the law.

The Kingdom of God is the will of God being done on the earth.  In order for His will to be done on earth you must welcome His Kingdom with a heart of worship.  The Kingdom of God can’t come in power, or in its fullness until you can truly say, “your will be done, I surrender all.”  Until you surrender yourself to the Lord, you will never experience the Kingdom mindset in your life.  We are the ones who establish the Kingdom, the dominion and authority of God on earth by our actions.  Which will re-align those things already in Heaven with earth.

When you truly start to live with the Kingdom mindset and realize that you have power and authority, nothing will stand in your way.  You are royalty, you rule and reign with Christ, and the devil will have to flee from your life.  You will not fear anything because you know the Kingdom of Heaven is near and the Holy Spirit is always guiding you.  Live to your full potential with Christ!
