Bible Study: Courts Of Heaven

When you are faced with trials and tribulations on earth and you feel like your prayers are not being heard, know that there is another realm where justice can be found.  This realm is known as the courts of heaven.

The courts of heaven is a real place where believers have access to, by way of prayer and petition through intercession by the Holy Spirit who intercedes for the believer.   It is where spiritual beings carry out the governmental affairs of heaven, and to some degree, the affairs of earth.  In this court, the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are central figures.  Our Father in Heaven has many roles as we approach him differently as to which role He is fulfilling at that particular moment.  He can be our judge who we seek for intervention and a verdict for our petition.

As we have discussed before, there is a spiritual war that goes on all around you.  Ephesians 6:12 says that, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”  Because of this war in the spiritual realm, spiritual law governs the spiritual realm.

Spiritual law is different from the laws that govern the physical world.  Spiritual law is eternal and unchanging.  It is the law that governs our relationship with God.  In the Bible, we see that God is a righteous judge and that Jesus is our advocate.  Psalm 96:13, Psalm 7:11 and 1 John 2:1 all show you this to be true.   Revelation 12:10 tells you that the devil is the accuser of the brethren and that there is spiritual law and jurisdiction.

When you go to the courts of heaven, you are aligning with God’s plan and purpose for your life.  The courts of heaven are a place of breakthrough, healing and restoration.  It is where you can receive direction from God for your life.  The Holy Spirit may specifically invite you to bring a particular matter to the courts of heaven.  Or you can ask the Holy Spirit to show you which matters need to be brought to the courts.

The courts of heaven are a place of protection, where you are protected from the enemy’s attacks.  It is also a place where you partner with God to see His will done on earth as it is in heaven.  The courts of heaven is where you can tap into God’s power and authority.  To have the covering and protection of God.  It is also a place of hope, peace and life.  Your faith is the currency for the courts of heaven.  You come into agreement with God that He is a good and faithful God who will do what He has said He will do.  His word does not return void.

So know what the courts of heaven are and what you have in them.  Have you been praying for years for a matter without seeing answers?  Has satan robbed you of something, and justice has not yet been served?  It may be time to have your case heard in the court room of heaven.  Know that there is a difference between prayer and petition.  Prayer covers all aspects of requests.  A petition is defined as a formal written request to a court requesting judicial action on a certain matter.  Petition in prayer is a legal presentation before the judge, requesting a verdict form heaven’s court.

What kind of verdicts or breakthroughs can you obtain in the courts of heaven.  Freedom from bondage, the tearing down of spiritual strongholds.  Setting you free from the chains of addictions.  Where your health can be restored.  God’s forgiveness and mercy are extended to all, and He can heal the deepest wounds.  This is where God’s abundance and prosperity are made available to you, and He will ensure you have everything you need.  God’s plans for your life are revealed here, and He will guide you on the path to success and fulfillment.

When you enter God’s court rooms, He will sit in judgment to hear and respond to our prayers.  You must step into God’s courtroom and bow in deep awe and show reverence before the holy righteousness of God.  Isaiah 43:26 says that, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.. Present your case boldly before a witness and declare your faith and trust in God.  This is essentially declaring war against the enemy and all of his works.  Stand firm against the enemy and take back what he has stolen from you.  Stand boldly in your strength and authority given to you through the blood of Jesus.  Always be specific and always ask for a verdict in your favor.  Keep declaring the physical manifestation of your victory.  Do this by speaking life over your situation and believing God will bring it to pass.  Also, you must live a holy life according to God’s standards, not the worlds.  Don’t let the enemy gain legal ground because of your disobedience.

It is important to claim the shed blood of Jesus Christ over your life.  It always comes back to the blood.  The blood of Jesus applies the finished work of the cross to your situation.  It also gives you access to all the benefits available to you through Christ’s sacrifice.  The accuser (satan) is at work before God day and night and will seize on anything not covered by the blood of Christ.  He will use it as legal grounds for legitimate accusations against us that block our access to the mercy of God.

If you are facing any difficulties in your life.  Know that there is hope.  The courts of heaven can provide the breakthrough you need to get through whatever you are facing.  Know the power and authority that is given to you and operate in it to tear down the strongholds that are keeping you in bondage.  Remember the battle has already been won by Jesus and that you just need to get “legal access” to the victory.  In the courts of heaven, you remove any legal access that the enemy is using to prevent God from delivering what He has promised to His children.
