Bible Study: Fear

Do you know that “fear not” is mentioned in the Bible 365 times, one for everyday of the year.  Fear robs you of all joy, happiness, health and strength.  Fear affects so many people in the world today.  Satan uses it as a tool to get people away from the Lord.  But if you are a follower of Jesus Christ, fear should not even enter your life.

God created us in His image, and through the Bible He gives us the blueprint to be bold in our faith and stand strong in times of trouble.

With everything going on in the world, fear is being pushed at every turn.  Fear for your health, fear for your finances, fear for your family, fear of death.  This is what is being pushed everywhere.  Proverbs 30:5 says that, Every word of God is pure.  He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.  The Bible is  our truth, and we must stand on the word of God.  There are so many good Bible verses to get in your spirit  so when you feel fear coming on, you can fight back with the spoken word.

Your mind should be clear of all the junk in the world.  Watch what you fill your spirit with.  If you constantly listen to the doom and gloom that is spread on the tv, you will begin to only see and feel doom and gloom.  But if you fill yourself with light and joy, you will have peace.  Fill your mind with scripture that you can use when the devil tries to come at you with fear.  James 4:7 says that, Therefore submit to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you.  You resist satan by refusing to let fear and temptation consume you.  Therefore he has no hold on you.

You cannot have faith and be fearful.  They do not coexist with each other.  Faith is believing what God says is absolutely true and will come to fruition.  Romans 10:17 says that, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  This verse is a good example of how to increase your faith.  You must hear an read the word of God.  It is that simple!  Get the word in your spirit and nothing will be able to hold you down.

Fear is an emotion that if you give into, satan will us it as fuel to get us to look away from God.  Fear is not real, it is a delusion.  The devil gets us to believe in fear by scaring us with negative outcomes.  But the Lord says, fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10). Also Psalms 27:1 says, The Lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid.  God dwells in the faith realm, the devil dwells in the feeling realm.

You must decide what emotion you are going to choose, faith or fear.  Call on Jesus in your time of trouble and He will not fail you.  For nothing is impossible with God!  Choose this day to live in victory and not defeat.  If man’s word does not line up with what the Bible has to say, then follow the word of God rather than man.  God wins in the end.  Stay the course and live in the power of the Holy Spirit.

I want to leave you with a good chapter in the Bible that really helps you with overcoming fear.
