Bible Study: Jesus’ Birth

What is the significance of Jesus’ birth and what does it mean for you?  Christmas is not a season, but the birth of the Messiah, Savior and Redeemer.  Christmas is about love, sacrifice and willingness.  Let this Christmas be a celebration honoring and worshiping the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Jesus’ birth was prophesied in the Old Testament in Isaiah 7:14, it says: The Lord Himself will give  you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and will bear a son, and she will call his name Immanuel.  You see the fulfillment of this prophecy in Matthew 1:18 which says, Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: His mother, Mary, was betrothed  to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus’ birth was the extraordinary incarnation of God Himself.  The birth of Jesus was the Word becoming flesh, thus God was manifested in the flesh.  John 1:14 says, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt  among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.  Jesus stepped from entreaty into the earth.  He had to be born of the flesh in order to die for you so that you would have redemption from sin.

Jesus came with all power from on High, and no power would be able to defeat Him.  Isaiah 9:6 says that, His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  King Jesus brings peace to all who accept Him.  He is your Savior, and the only one who can save you from your sins.  He is Emmanuel, God with us.  Not only was He with you on Earth, but He is also with you always.  He never leaves you nor forsakes you.

The birth of Jesus was the entrance of the perfect sinless sacrificial lamb.  John 1:29 says that, Behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.. No longer do you have to sacrifice an animal to be forgiven of sin.  Jesus paid the ultimate price for your sin by dying on the cross so that you can be forgiven of your sins.  He made the way so that you would be able to sit at the right hand of the Father.

Jesus is Christmas; and without Him there is no reason to celebrate.  That very first Christmas God gave His son to humanity, and only through Jesus can mankind receive eternal life,  John 3:16 says that, For God so loved world, that He  gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

There are many blessings that are in the gift of Jesus Christ.  Everything we need is contained in the gift of Jesus.  Jesus brought the light of truth into the world to dispel the darkness of sin.  He gave us the ability to be born again and experience eternity in Heaven.  You are given the gift of His divine blood that runs through you.  Which gives you the power and authority to defeat the devil.  Through Jesus you have no reason to fear or worry about anything.  For victory is already yours.  You have the power over sickness, disease and infirmities, by His stripes you are healed.  Through Jesus you are able to have an intimate relationship with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

This Christmas remember the precious Gift of Jesus and all that His birth and death did for all mankind.  Remember that Christmas is about love, sacrifice and willingness.  If you have not given yourself to the Lord, now is a good time to accept Him as your Lord and Savior.  All that He has done will be given unto you and you will spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

Ask Jesus into your life and repent of all your sins and iniquities.  Believe that He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and ask for His salvation.  Turn your life over to Jesus.   Receive Him and be born again!

Merry Christmas!
